baby's room

For this boy we decided to do the room in green.
The stripes were quite a challenge.
I don't think we'll be doing more stripes any time soon.
For now we just have the crib and the bassinet set up.
I'll post more pictures as we get more furniture.

swim lessons

Ethan is taking swim lessons this year.
The first week was rough, he didn't want to put his face in the water.
He would practically hyperventilate every time he had to go in the deeper water.
So we took him to Target and let him pick out some goggles.
Now he is fearless. He loves the water.
He asks all the time if it is time to go to swim lessons.
Even after he busted his chin on the side of the pool, he wanted right back in.
I couldn't be happier.

Ethan's new room

There have been quite a few changes around our house as we prepare for the baby.
The biggest one so far has been Ethan's room.
Since we moved in, it's been just his bed and dresser.
I never liked the idea of his toys all over his room.

Before

We are making what used to be the playroom into the baby's room.
That meant that all of Ethan's toys had to be moved.
Last Saturday we rearranged the furniture and added the toys, his table and a rug.

After

To me it definitely looks like a little boys room now.

he's 5!

Ethan's b-day was on Memorial Day this year so we decided to keep the festivities minimal. Oma came all the way from Utah and Grandma and Grandpa Goodman drove from Apache Junction. Here are some pictures from the big day.

the birthday boy

he got spoiled this year!

Aunt Sarah gave him "Where the Sidewalk Ends"

blowing out the candles on his cake.

he said that this was the best birthday ever. he says that every year.

first purchase

After we found out that we're having a boy,
we went to babies'r'us and bought these cute things.
The first new things for the baby.

Ethan has always been dude, so logically this one will be:
I couldn't pass this one up. So cute.

Hopefully we shouldn't have to get too much for this baby.
Although I will be getting some things that I never had with Ethan.
Like a swing, a changing table and a high chair.
Looking back I don't know how I survived changing diapers on the floor for 3 years.

splashed

Last Friday we went to the Zoo.
We rode the zoo train so I wouldn't have to walk too much.
It was a different way to see the zoo and we learned some interesting things about the animals .

We also we to Stingray Bay.
There were so many kids there being crazy and I think the rays got a little agitated.

Ethan got splashed right in the face.

Poor guy.

wardrobe

Since Ethan can't really work a camera, I have yet to model the clothes I got. So here are some pictures from the web.

This is so comfy, I've been wearing it everywhere.

The all important yoga pants.

Just one t-shirt to start with. All my old ones are starting to not fit over my belly.

I dream of these. I want them. They don't have my size anymore. So I'm still hunting for jeans.
